Export a backup
Create a user-directed backup export to the Files provider you choose.
Before you start
- Open Settings.
- Choose the storage or backup destination you want to use.
Steps
- Open the storage and backup settings.
- Choose iCloud for live sync, On My Device for local-only storage, or an export destination through Files.
- Prepare the backup export.
- Save the exported backup to the selected provider.
If an export fails, check that the selected Files provider is installed, signed in, and available on the device.
